The Amateur traveler goes to the garden island of Kauai in Hawaii: rugged clifts, beaches, snorkeling, body surfing, guava, an “easy one mile family hike”, helicopter tour and Chris tripping over big Hawaiian words. With lush rain forests on the windward side of the island (some portions of the island getting around an inch of rain a day) Kaui is known as the “Garden Island”.

whenever i think of Kauai i think of Kipu Falls. i don’t think it was mentioned in the show but it is a wonderful secluded falls that is great for swimming and jumping off. we found it through the awesome “ultimate kauai guidebook”. look for Kipu, meet the locals, and be prepared to most of your day there. it’s that good.
