But, I was surprised that there were even that many National Security advisors, and that that many other members of the executive branch travel with him. If I was guessing I would say that was for a large international trip, maybe to the G8 summit where issues might arise that would require input from all of the departments. Besides in the time we live in where the President has to deal with every problem, from the response to bad weather to terrorism the staff must be on hand to support whatever decisions have to be made.
