Sanyo%20Xacti%20VPC-E1Visit Aruba with the Amateur Traveler: This video shows a sea kaiaking and snorkeling trip in Aruba. This was the first “real” video I shot with my under water video camera

which is a Sanyo Xacti VPC-E1 6MP Waterproof MPEG4 Camcorder with 5x Optical Zoom (Blue). It was part of a longer cruise I talked about on the Amateur Traveler Episode 113 – Theme Cruise to Panama (Shakespeare at Sea / MacMania).

What a coincidence, we did that exact same kayak trip 3 weeks ago, same guide too. I was pondering getting this camera to use for windsurfing but a 5th camera right now is a bit excessive. Shots look great!

By the way, kayak snorkel trip way overpriced at $75. A much better outing is Sailing and snorkel on Mi Dushi at half the price with open bar.

That underwater camera is tempting me a lot.

It is a bit pricey. Another alternative is a waterproof housing for a digital camera. I should say though, if you don’t want to be tempted, don’t want the next video. :-)
