One thing I have learned from producing the Amateur Traveler for over 3 years is that not everyone can take a good picture even when they know how to press the shutter. We have developed the habit of asking people if they would like a picture together almost anytime we are out. This is due to our wanting/hoping we could find someone to take our shot in front of whatever landmark we are viewing. We do tend to hand off my wife's point and shoot instead of my camera, but that is mainly so the person doing us the favor of a photo doesn't have to figure out the SLR.
