Will we soon look back on jet lag with nostalgia? Will it soon go the way of flight attendants in mini skirts and airline meals?

Can jet lag be cured by cherries or new drug?

The results of a study released Monday (Dec. 1) suggest that a cure for jet lag may be in sight. It’s something called VEC-162, also known as tasilmelteon, developed by Maryland-based Vanda Pharmaceuticals. The drug reportedly mimics the body clock in restoring melatonin, helping long-haul travelers adjust to new time zones, sleep soundly and awake feeling rested, apparently with minimal side effects. But additional studies need to be undertaken before tasilmelteon is made available to the public.

130,000 inflatable jubs missing at sea

An Australian men’s mag has asked beachcombers to keep a sharp eye out for inflatable breasts after 130,000 pneumatic chesticles went awol en route from Beijing to Sydney.

Expect more mergers or closures throughout the next year. It might not be good for ticket prices but it is pretty inevitable.

BA confirms merger talks with Qantas

British Airways has issued a statement in response to recent media speculation about a merger with Qantas. BA is still continuing discussions with Iberia and also wants a tie-up with American Airlines. The airline confirmed it is exploring a potential merger with Qantas “via a dual-listed company structure”.
