Visit the Marin Headlands just the other side of the Golden Gate bridge from San Francisco with the Amateur Traveler. The Marin Headlands area is part of the larger Golden Gate National Recreation Area which is part of the National Park System. From the Marin headlands you can get great views of the Golden Gate bridge. This video also shows the Point Bonita Lighthouse and Fort Cronkhite which was part of a series of forts built to protect San Francisco during world war II.

I enjoyed watching this on my computer, Chris. I never managed to see your video editions before as I didn’t have the right kind of player & it didn’t seem to appear on the computer – not sure if you’ve changed the way you’re doing things. Anyway, I’ll be looking out more for the video editions now.

Fascinating! I lived the first 18 years of my life in San Francisco and never knew this little pearl existed. Loved knowing about the history and seeing the sights!
