I love this little corner of Paris that most tourists don’t get to. The St Martin’s Canal is an old barge canal that cuts through Paris to the Seine. I first learned about it in a walking tour in the Eyewitness Travel Guide to France. While walking along the canal I saw this couple sitting by one of the locks. When I am old, if all goes well you will find me sitting here with my wife.

What a sweet picture. I’ve always dreamt of a French canal boat holiday, I would love that.

Never been to Paris but it looks very romantic…
Off topic though.. Chris, would you happen to know of any good beaches in Australia? We are going next month for some on location photoshoots.

Love this! My husband and I definitely have plans to be sitting on a bench in Paris when we retire.

There are quite a few good beaches in Australia (except maybe during box jelly fish season). Sydney is certainly known for Bondi beach and the Gold coast north of Brisbane also has a good reputation.

Love Paris. Romantic by nature, but this shot ups the ante.

I hope to be sitting on this bench someday! What a fantastic picture! It reminds me of that diamond commercial with the older couple walking in the park.
