Travel to the Kingdom of Bhutan – Episode 179
by Chris Christensen Add commentscategories: asia travel
The Amateur Traveler talks to Jose from Caracas Venezuela about a recent trip to Bhutan. Learn about this remote country in the himalayas. Jose, a friend, a tour guide and a drive explored a small portion of the beautiful country on a 5 day trip. They hiked to Buddhist monasteries, watched the national sport (archery) and even saw the youngest king in the world. The flight in may be harrowing but the country itself is peaceful.

Super! Bhutan just moved up on my list! Anyplace that’s remote and untouristed I must see! Thanks for covering the ‘unknown places!”

Hey Chris, here’s Adam from Warsaw, Poland. I’ve listened to your podcast while driving home from my corporate job, back in 2oo7, dreaming that one day I’ll resign my boring job and hit the road…Imagine what – it actually happened!! I started my own company, we travel a lot with my family and our next after next destination would be Bhutan. Thanks a lot for sharing this story – I’ve listened to it while walking my dog in the woods (it’s my daily morning routine) – and listening to Jose from Venezuela, who travelled to Asia and tells his story to a guy in USA on my Iphone headphones in the middle of the Central Europe, in the green forest – that was a sensation you may call “What a wonderfull …and small world”

Today I have another of your shows to listen – let’s see when it will take me & my fam’ly
