Goldfish market - Hong Kong

Hong Kong is well known for its seafood and for its fish markets but there is one market where you are not expected to fillet the fish you buy and that is the goldfish market. This market has a large variety of fish for aquariums that are either wrapped up in a plastic bag and ready to travel or swimming in crowded aquariums. Some of the fish available in the plastic bags are 2-3 times larger than the fish in the above picture.

The goldfish market is near the Prince Edward MTR station on the other side of Prince Edward Road from the equally colorful flower market. It is, not surprisingly, quieter than the bird market. You can also purchase aquariums and supplies at this one block long fish extravaganza.
