Today’s photo “Cleveland Museum of Art – April 2008” was taken by Phil Yorko and was submitted in the Amateur Traveler March Photo contest.

Phil says:

The Cleveland Museum of Art, located in Cleveland, Ohio, serves as the main attraction to the flowering trees surrounding Wade Pond. The overwhelming fragrance is just one reason to visit the museum each spring. 2005 saw the beginning of a major renovation project that will increase the museum by approximately 200,000 square feet. Gallery space will be increased by an impressive 41%. Designed by architect Rafael Vinoly, this renovation and expansion has an estimated completion date of 2013. One fact worth noting is that portions of the museum are closed and some new additions are not yet complete. Fortunately, there is still much to see and appreciate. There are weekly events to enjoy for both adults and families. As it is located near the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, Cleveland Natural History Museum and Case Western Reserve University one can easily enjoy a full afternoon in this area of town known as University Circle.
