Win a Compact Photo Printer (or a trip to Greece) from Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest

Special prize for Amateur Traveler readers… read to the bottom.
The 3rd Annual Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest is happening now! Send in your best photos-in categories like Animals/Wildlife, Travel, and Weather-for a chance to win a National Geographic Expeditions trip for two to Greece and a feature in an upcoming issue of National Geographic magazine.
There’s no question about one thing: To get the best shot, you need the best equipment. That’s where Energizer comes in. Energizer® Ultimate Lithium AA and AAA batteries are the world’s longest lasting batteries in high-tech devices. They last up to eight times longer than Energizer® MAX® in digital cameras (results vary by camera)-which means you can take your mind off your batteries and focus on capturing that winning photo.

Because Energizer wanted the Amateur Traveler
to help get the word out they have sweetened the pot. If you comment on this post (and are in the U.S. sorry) then on July 1st I will select a commenter at random to win a Canon Selphy ES30 Compact Photo Printer (White) (2676B001). Prizes are supplied by Energizer and National Geographic. Tell me what you would do with a portable photo printer.

I would take it with me around the world and print out photos of the kids I take photos of. In many places, families have no photos of themselves.

That’s so true, Gary! These are “little” things we take for granted. I have gone on trips where I took photos and attempted to mail or e-mail them back without much success. Wish I had been the first to write that! lol

I’d do what Gary wants to do but I’d also take pictures of tree and leave them, because the trees NEVER get photos of themselves.

I’m a really good photographer. Quite frankly, I’m way better than Gary Arndt. But his comment is so simple, to the point, honest and true, I am not even going to bother to enter this contest. Give Gary the printer. He deserves it. Seriously.

I would LOVE to win either.
I’m an avid beginner photographer, I just got a Canon S5 IS (bought it from my brother) and I love taking pictures of everything around me, because life is beautiful. I live in the moment and couldn’t wish for anything more.

Looks like a cool prize. Gary has the best idea, I won’t try to top it. Give the man the printer.

Oh, how I miss printed photos… for me, vacation memories feel a little more distant locked away in electronic archives. I’d love to be able print photos for family, friends and NEW friends on vacation (as long as the printer fits in my carry-on — cause that’s all I’m bringing)!

I have 8 kids and am always taking pic’s of everything they do to capture these moments. We all know how fast kids grow and I want to have every milestone, every moment captured so I can forever remember them and oneday share with grandkids. I would love to win this because frankly my printer stinks and I need a new one.

We are continually taking photos and somehow they never leave the camera or manage to get printed. I love at some great shots and think: That’s a framer! But then they never get printed. I would love to have something that allows me to print that great shot immediately.

I’m a fan of the old snail mail and I love sending postcards when I travel. This little guy would allow me to send my own photos to my friends back home!

Times are tough and the only way I can afford a photo printer is to win one! Thanks for the opportunity Chris and for taking me around the world through your wonderful podcasts.

What a wonderful contest. I’ve been wanting to work on an art project I’ve had brewing in my head that utilizes my travels photos but my printer is just terrible. What a difference one of these would make! Keep up the great work!

This printer sounds so fun! I would take the printer to where I volunteer with people with memory loss. Let them take and print the picture on our day trips out and about. Then they can keep the memory in their pocket:)

This printer would be an incredible asset at a service center for which I am a Board member. Garden Center Services, located in Burbank, Illinois, has a mission to improve the lives of adults with developmental disabilities through superior residential and vocational services that last a lifetime. GCS was founded on the belief that anything is possible for persons with disabilities if you have a family-oriented environment with caring, committed staff.
GCS’s Residential Programs include options in small group homes known as Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILAs), as well as two Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF/DD) for those with developmental disabilities who require increased nursing and living supports, and two job-training facilities. GCS staff members provide professional in-home support. These caring individuals are more like extended family members than the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) they are. Residential locations include homes in Berwyn, Burbank, Chicago Ridge, Cicero, LaGrange Park and Westmont; along with our Second Chance Thrift Shoppe in Lemont.
Photographs are taken on a semi-regular (approximately annually) of the “consumers”; this printer would help cut down the costs of printing that GCS incurs with this project.
Thank you for your consideration; I LOVE listening to your podcasts and just today downloaded your video series. I am going away this weekend, so I have downloaded a bunch of them to my iPhone to view while a passenger in the car.
