Betsy Ross House - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Just a few blocks from Independence Hall in Philadelphia is the Besty Ross House where the first flag of these United States (United States considered a plural noun until the Civil War) was created by Betsy Ross. The design had 13 stars and 13 stripes and at first one star and one stripe were added with each new state. Had that practice continued the current flag would be pin-striped.
