Ghost Town Kitchen - Bodie, California - Photo

We just published a list of the The World’s Most Interesting Ghost Towns here on Amateur Traveler, but let me thrown my favorite in the mix. Bodie is an abandoned gold mining town on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountains from Yosemite National Park. The town is a California State Park and is held in a state of “arrested decay”. Houses, like this one, still have their dishes ready to serve a meal that will never be served. Although this house could use a good dusting first.

What a great photo! I love the colors in it. It looks both otherworldly and like something you see everyday.
