Europe – day 14 – Lake Como
We enjoyed the nice breakfast at the hotel and then walked to the ferry. We took the ferry to Belaggio. They load and unload the ferries very quickly including the passengers and 7-8 cars, trucks ad buses.
Belaggio is pretty but it was the shopping that captivated the ladies who picked up a umber of gifts for friends back home. Kevin and I walked around exploring and taking pictures.
After a later lunch we boarded a ferry to Maggiore. The ferry went via Vernazza but did not coast anything additional to do that leg of the trip. For some reason this ferry was marked on the schedule as passengers only.
Maggiore is not as picturesque as Bellagio and there are fewer interesting stores for shopping although the ladies did find a few interesting ones. The highlight of the stop at Maggiore was probably the stop for gellato.
The last ferry heads back for Vernazza around 7:30pm but as it was a warm day we wore out a little sooner. I think we are starting to get ready to go home even with again as beautiful as lake Como is. We ate dinner at a restaurant in main square of town.
