Travel to Europe

The “Old World” stretches from the sun-drenched Mediterranean in the South to the Fjords of Norway and Lapland in the North. It reaches from the Emerald Island in the West to the Ural Mountains in the East. Europe is 6.8% of the Earth’s land area and contains 11% of its population. Tourists come to Europe to enjoy its food and its culture, its history and its people. It is the home of western civilization and the focus for 2 world wars.

Much of Europe is united and travelers can pass across many of its borders without passport control and can use the euro in many of its nations. It is connected in many places by high speed train and by budget airlines. Eastern Europe is less expensive than Western Europe. Southern Europe is more lively and chaotic while Northern Europe is more orderly and punctual.
