Temple of Kukulkan - Chichen Itza, Mexico - Photo

The signature structure in the popular Mayan site of Chichen Itza on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula is the Temple of Kukulkan or “El Castillo”. The temple is dedicated to the feathered serpent. Visitors can no longer climb the pyramid as they were allowed to do for many years.

Wow. We went to Monte Alban (http://roadslesstraveled.us/monte-alban/) and Palenque (http://roadslesstraveled.us/palenque/), but Chichen Itza looks truly amazing.

Thanks for sharing – we’ve got to get ourselves over to the Yucatan side of Mexico!!
