Travel to Sun Valley, Idaho – Episode 327
categories: USA TravelThe Amateur Traveler talks to Scott E. Jordan of SCOTTeVEST (see SCOTTeVEST travel clothes).about his home in Sun Valley Idaho.
“I was told that Sun Valley was the ‘mother of all ski resorts’ in North America. In fact, it was the first destination ski resort in North America. I came here to ski and fell in love with it and moved here 8 years ago. There are more things to do here in the Summertime. They have a saying here that you move here for the winter and the skiing but you stay here for the summers. The summers are short but they are spectacular. It’s perfect weather. There is no humidity. There’s hiking, biking, arts of all sorts, the longest running outdoor symphony that’s free and all sorts of concerts and outdoor festivals.”

Just listened to the podcast on San Antonio, TX. Great Podcast. Somethings that were missed around San Antonio: Try (if warm) tubing down the Guadalupe or Comal rivers and eating German food in New Braunfels, TX.
The German place I have always gone to for apple strudel is Omas Haus. Here is a link to one of the many tubing companies that take you up the river drop you off with your tube, then pick you up at the end: Rockin’ R River Rides – New Braunfels, TX
Also Austin, TX is close to drive to from San Antonio. Growing up in East Texas, we had our best times in San Antonio and New Braunfels.

Hey, who doesn’t want to move to Sun Valley after listening to Scott! A great episode! All the best from the very northern Sweden – these days it’s daylight 24 hours a day here, not bad that either π
