The Amateur Traveler goes to St Georges on the island of Bermuda. This World Heritage town is the 5th oldest European settlement in the new world and the home of the oldest English speaking church. This visit was part of a cruise to Bermuda on Royal Caribbean.
One of the most enduring and endearing pictures in my head of Bermuda was the businessmen and in this case, a police officer directing traffic wearing the classic Bermuda shorts. The businessmen don’t wear white gloves but they do sometimes where surprisingly bright color shorts with their blazers and ties. I love the practical approach to business and professional attire. It says to me “we are dignified people… but we aren’t crazy… it’s hot here!”
