Review – Scottevest Pack Windbreaker – Geek Chic

They call me “Mr. Pockets”. Seriously they do. I earned that moniker for being able to pull the guidebook, cell phone, water bottle, map, etc from the pockets of my cargo shorts when we were on vacation. So you would think I would have tried out some of the products from SCOTTEvest long before now.

If you are not familiar with SCOTTEvest, they make a dazzling array of profusely pocketed garments starting with their flagship product a fleece vest. The company offered to let me have one of their products and I jumped at the chance. I chose a lightweight jacket from their collection called the SCOTTEvest Pack Windbreaker (see SCOTTeVEST travel clothes).

The Scottevest Pack Windbreaker has pockets for:

• Pens
• A notebook
• An iPad
• A Cell phone
• An iPod
• Itself

That last pocket surprised me. The jacket folds neatly into itself in a poach you can clip to your belt to carry around. I suspect I may have looked a bit nerdy as I carried around my jacket all day at the recent Travel Blogger’s Expo but I hate carrying a jacket around all day in beautiful weather just because you will need it later in the evening.

The Scottevest Pack Windbreaker is a lightweight jacket, suitable for wetter climates than colder ones, but it is also lightweight enough to easily throw in a backpack or suitcase which is just what I was looking for. The jacket also has a routing system for your iPod/iPhone earbuds so you can leave a pair permanently embedded in your jacket and use them without the usual tangle of wires when you take them out of your pocket.

I admit I have not tried the iPod pocket yet, but I am just geek enough to do so.
