A nice trip report, but your guest was misled at the museum in Ecuador. It’s a myth that sinks and toilets drain in opposite directions on either side of the equator. The Coriolis Effect only operates on the large scale, affecting weather systems with hurricanes in particular, but being totally ineffective toward smaller things. Peru is definitely a golden place, It has everything that make you have an unforgettable vacations. I suggest to everybody to visit this beautiful country. And if you go I recommend hiring a travel agency who arranges everything. You will enjoy every journey you make in this country. I hired TurPeru and everything was very good. A few inaccuracies that I noted… Just for clarification. She said Ecuador is in eastern South America but it is on the west coast. She also said that Lima was at a high altitude but it is at sea level since it is on the ocean. And also her desire to get away from “touristy” areas… Quito, cusco… I mean… Those are probably two of the most touristy cities in South America. Still great though, but definitely touristy.

odd, when I looked for altitude of Lima to fact check it was listed anywhere from 0 to 5000 feet
