Orlando offers a lot of amazing educational experiences that the whole family can enjoy. Rollercoasters and theme parks are great, but Orlando has invested a huge amount of money into making learning equally as exciting for kids, and it would be a shame to miss out on it.

If you can sell this as an educational experience to the family, you’re flying! Quite literally. A large indoor skydiving experience, this wind tunnel will give you a feel for what skydiving is like, and is safe for all ages.

Orlando Science Center

Three storeys of cool science awaits, with ever-changing exhibits and a wide range of interactive activities for children of all ages. A hurricane simulator, an IMAX theatre, and plenty of reptiles mean that the Science Center is perfect for rainy days.

Kennedy Space Center

The home of manned space flights since 1968 and located on Orlando’s entirely space-themed Space Coast, the Kennedy Space Center offers everything from lunch with astronauts to behind-the-scenes tours of Launch Control, and a look at the Vehicle Assembly Building. An educational look at man’s awe-inspiring endeavours to explore space.  Definitely one of the coolest places to go on your holidays to Orlando.

A small museum with plenty of travelling exhibits, with everything from Monets to Andy Warhols to African works. A great change to the fast pace of the theme parks!

Orange County Regional History Center

The Center is housed in a 1927 courthouse and showcases the collections of the Historical Society of Central Florida. The AAM-accredited museum hosts three floors of permanent exhibits and over 12,000 years of Florida history. There are also summer camps available for children.

Epcot Divequest

A pricey, but close-up look at the running of an aquarium, from feeding schedules to behaviour of wild animals in captivity. There’s a full ‘backstage’ tour as well as the feature attraction, which is the opportunity to dive with sharks and other creatures, provided you have an open water scuba certificate. Highly recommended for keen divers!

At the end of the day, you can return home to one of many beautiful villas in Florida to play mini golf at the resort, or enjoy a family meal together at one of the local restaurants.
