The Amateur Traveler goes to Edmonton and Jasper in Alberta Canada: world’s largest mall, stupid tourist tricks with elk, Whistler’s Mountain, Malign Canyon, Malign Lake, and the Athabaskan Glacier.
I took this picture near Jasper in Alberta, Canada as this tourist (not someone I knew) was trying to get a picture standing very close to an elk. The animal kept backing away and was clearly very uncomfortable. I was afraid that this was going to end very ugly.

I’ve been getting the itch for a vacation (like usual) and thought of Banff. I knew I could count on your podcast to have a story about the area. Thanks for the info! I admit I haven’t listened regularly like I used to because it caused me to hate how much I don’t travel! lol!
