Pastizzi is plural; so no article is required. Although the words translates as “cheesecake”, it has nothering to do with the biscuit-base and Angel Delight topping of the British. Ours is a feast of cholsterol-ridden flaky pastry and a filling of either ricotta or mushy peas.
