Discover the lush landscapes, charming towns, Atlantic beaches, historic cities, vineyards, and national parks of Portugal’s Minho region in this one-week itinerary with Sandra from Verdeful.
Why should you go to Minho?
Sandra says, “The reason why I would like to tell people more about this part of the world is because it’s such a beautiful place with a lot of greenery. It’s what makes Minho special to me. If someone has a week in northern Portugal, I would suggest a route that mixes coast, countryside, and also a bit of city life… we can explore some coastal villages, beaches, spend some time in some historical cities, and then, of course, go to the vineyards and have some nice sparkling Vinho Verde.”

on Travel to Fiji (Yasawa Islands, Taveuni, Ovalau, and Viti Levu) – Episode 1003
Randy Rohrer wrote:
I really enjoyed this episode on Fiji. In 2018 I joined a group and spent 2 weeks kayaking around the Yasawa Islands. We kayaked from island to island and camped on the lovely beaches. We did some great snorkeling and also swam in the underwater cave as described by Jonty. One evening we camped at a village for cultural interaction with locals. At the end of our kayaking trip, we stayed at the Blue Lagoon resort for 2 nights, where we did a great night snorkel with wild phosphorescent plant life using UV lights. One of the nearby islands (private, no visitation allowed) has been the permanent home of the Survivor TV show for the past 20 years. Jonty mentioned the large Indian population, and I was surprised and thrilled to enjoy great Indian food in the city of Nandi …. wasn’t expecting that. This episode brought back great memories of my brief visit to Fiji.
And since I’m planning on joining the 2027 Amateur Travel trip to Bolivia, I appreciated Jonny’s overview and endorsement of Bolivia.
